St. Anthony’s Feast 2026 Recap: An Unforgettable Weekend for Caffe Alanno
What a weekend!
Caffe Alanno was incredibly proud to be part of the 107th Saint Anthony’s Feast in Boston’s historic North End, and this year’s celebration turned into one of the most memorable events of our 2026 season.
From sharing our handcrafted Sicilian granita with thousands of feast-goers to welcoming some very special visitors to our booth, St. Anthony’s Feast gave us so many moments we won’t soon forget.
Celebrating 107 Years of Faith, Family & Italian Tradition
St. Anthony’s Feast is much more than a summer festival. The tradition began in Boston in 1919, when Italian immigrants from Montefalcione, Italy brought the customs and traditions of their hometown to their new community in the North End. More than a century later, it has grown into the largest Italian religious festival in New England while remaining deeply connected to faith, family, heritage, and community.
For four days, the streets of the North End came alive with colorful processions, live music, strolling performers, religious services, Italian food, culinary demonstrations, vendors, and generations of families celebrating together. The weekend culminated in the traditional 10-hour Grand Procession of Saint Anthony through the neighborhood.
For Caffe Alanno, being surrounded by so much Italian-American culture made sharing our own family tradition feel especially meaningful.
A Taste of Sicily in Boston’s North End
Caffe Alanno was created from Karen and Mike’s love of their Italian heritage, family traditions, and the foods they grew up enjoying.
Granita has deep roots in Sicily, and ours is still handcrafted in small batches using simple, natural ingredients and a process inspired by traditional Sicilian granita-making.
Being able to serve it in the heart of Boston’s North End, surrounded by Italian food, music, traditions, and families celebrating their own heritage, was truly special.
And this particular weekend brought a few surprises we never expected.
A Special Visit from Governor Maura Healey
One of the biggest highlights of the entire feast happened right at our booth when Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey stopped by to try Caffe Alanno granita!
She didn’t stop at just one flavor. Governor Healey tried every flavor we were serving, and loved them.
For a small, family-owned business like ours, having the Governor of Massachusetts stop at our booth, learn about what we make, and enjoy the granita we put so much care into creating was an incredibly exciting moment.
It was definitely one for the Caffe Alanno memory book.
Growing Up Italian × Caffe Alanno
Another huge moment from St. Anthony’s Feast was our collaboration with Sabino Curcio of Growing Up Italian.
Sabino stopped by to try Caffe Alanno and create content with us during the feast. After the video was shared, we saw the impact almost immediately.
Throughout the weekend, people came to our booth and told us they had seen the Growing Up Italian video and wanted to try Caffe Alanno for themselves.
For a brand rooted so strongly in Italian family, food, and culture, collaborating with Growing Up Italian felt like a perfect fit, and seeing that collaboration introduce so many new people to our granita made it even more exciting.
Talking Granita with Ivana Bonetti
We were also thrilled to connect with Boston comedian and content creator Ivana Bonetti, who stopped by for an interview and social media collaboration with Caffe Alanno.
It gave us another opportunity to share the personality and story behind our family business while introducing Caffe Alanno to an even larger local audience.
Like our collaboration with Growing Up Italian, the response showed us just how powerful Boston’s local community can be in helping people discover small businesses.
A Weekend We Won’t Forget
Between the energy of the North End, the traditions of St. Anthony’s Feast, the incredible people who visited our booth, and some very unexpected special guests, this was a standout weekend for Caffe Alanno.
Most importantly, we got to do what started all of this in the first place: share our family’s granita, one scoop at a time.
