There’s something extra special about serving Caffe Alanno granita in the heart of Boston’s North End, surrounded by Italian culture, food, family, and tradition.

This summer, Caffe Alanno had the opportunity to be part of the 2026 St. Agrippina Feast, and we’re excited to share a few of our favorite moments from the weekend!

Celebrating Italian Tradition in Boston

The St. Agrippina Feast brings generations of families and visitors together in Boston’s historic North End for a celebration deeply rooted in Italian heritage.

For Caffe Alanno, being part of events like this has an even deeper meaning.

Our business was created from Karen and Mike’s love for their own Italian heritage and family traditions. Granita itself comes from Sicily, where the refreshing semi-frozen treat has been enjoyed for generations. Karen’s grandfather, Giovanni, emigrated from the Sicilian island of Salina in 1911, making the opportunity to serve handcrafted Sicilian granita at an Italian feast in Boston feel particularly close to home.

It’s a chance to share a piece of the culture that inspired Caffe Alanno with every person who stops by our stand.

Scooping Granita All Weekend Long

Of course, no summer feast is complete without something cold and refreshing!

Throughout the St. Agrippina Feast, we loved meeting everyone who stopped by to try Caffe Alanno, grab a favorite flavor, or discover granita for the very first time.

Our granita is handcrafted in small batches using simple, natural ingredients and a process inspired by traditional Sicilian granita-making. Each batch is prepared with the same care and attention that Karen and Mike bring to everything Caffe Alanno creates.

And on a summer day in the North End, a cold scoop definitely hits the spot.
